Malindo Air Name Change Policy

Malindo Air, now rebranded as Batik Air Malaysia, has a specific policy regarding name changes and corrections on tickets.

Name Corrections Permitted:
Significant Corrections:

For changes exceeding three characters (e.g., "Mohd Ali" to "Mohammad Ali"), a higher fee applies, typically around MYR 150 (~USD 34) after issuance, provided it’s still the same person as verified by passport or ID. This is treated as a name amendment rather than a full transfer.

No Ticket Transfers:

Malindo Air does not allow transferring a ticket to a different person (e.g., changing "John Tan" to "Sarah Lim"). This aligns with standard airline security protocols. If a different traveler needs to fly, the original ticket must be canceled (subject to fare rules) and a new one purchased.

Group Bookings:

For group bookings, up to two passenger name changes are permitted without penalty if requested more than 48 hours before departure. Additional changes incur fees: MYR 100 (~USD 23) per passenger for domestic flights and MYR 150 (~USD 34) for international flights. Within 48 hours of departure, name changes are not allowed.

Process:

Online: Minor corrections can sometimes be made via "Manage My Booking" on the Batik Air website (www.malindoair.com or www.batikair.com.my) by entering your booking reference and last name. However, this depends on the fare type and system limitations.

Airport Counter: Changes can also be requested at a Malindo Air ticket counter, though fees may apply, and last-minute requests risk rejection if too close to departure.
