Central Mountain Air's baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage, based on the latest available information. Always check flycma.com for the most up-to-date details, as policies may vary by route, fare type, or aircraft type.
Carry-On Baggage
Allowance:
- All passengers: 1 carry-on bag + 1 personal item (e.g., briefcase, laptop bag, purse, camera case, diaper bag) included free.
- On flights with 50 seats or less (e.g., Beechcraft 1900D): Only 1 personal item is allowed onboard due to limited overhead space; carry-on bags may be gate-checked free of charge.
Dimensions & Weight:
- Carry-on: Max. 9 x 16 x 22 in (23 x 40 x 55 cm), including wheels/handles, with a maximum weight of 22 lbs (10 kg). Must fit in overhead bins or under the seat.
- Personal item: Max. 6 x 13 x 17 in (16 x 33 x 43 cm), with a maximum weight of 22 lbs (10 kg). Must fit under the seat.
- Total combined dimensions for carry-on: Max. 45 linear inches (114 cm, L + W + H).
Additional Notes:
- Oversized carry-ons are not permitted and may cause delays; they must be checked at the gate or check-in counter, potentially incurring fees.
- Liquids/gels: Max. 3.4 oz (100 ml) per container, fitting in a 1-quart clear plastic bag.
- Prohibited items: Firearms, ammunition, loose cartridges, e-cigarettes, and hazardous materials (e.g., flammable liquids, fireworks) are not allowed in carry-on. Spare lithium batteries must be in carry-on, protected to prevent short-circuiting.
- Drones: Allowed in carry-on if turned off and safely stowed; lithium batteries must be removed and carried in carry-on.
Checked Baggage
Allowance:
- Economy Class: 2 checked bags included free, each with a maximum weight of 50 lbs (23 kg) and maximum linear dimensions of 62 in (158 cm, L + W + H). The combined weight of both bags must not exceed 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Infants: Typically allowed baggage as part of the adult’s allowance (e.g., diaper bag as a personal item).
- Military Personnel: Active, Reserve, National Guard, retired personnel, and dependents may be exempt from baggage fees with valid ID.
Dimensions & Weight:
- Max. 50 lbs (23 kg) per bag and 62 linear inches (158 cm, L + W + H).
- Overweight (51–70 lbs / 24–32 kg): $25–$50 per bag, subject to space availability.
- Oversized (63–115 in / 159–292 cm): $25–$100 per bag, subject to space availability.
- Bags over 70 lbs (32 kg) or 115 in (292 cm) are not accepted and must be shipped as cargo.
Fees (approximate, per bag, each way)
- Excess baggage (third bag or more): $85–$95.
- Overweight (51–70 lbs): $25–$50.
- Oversized (over 62 in): $25–$100.
- Fees vary by route and are cumulative (e.g., an overweight and oversized bag incurs both fees).
- Prepaid baggage options are available up to 24 hours before departure via flycma.com; airport fees may be higher.
Additional Notes:
- Excess/oversized baggage is carried space-available and may not travel on the same flight.
- Baggage is tagged only to Central Mountain Air destinations; for connecting flights with other airlines, passengers may need to collect and recheck baggage.
- Inspection: All baggage is inspected at check-in, and only suitably packed items are accepted. A signed release may be required for fragile or oversized items.
- Liability: Central Mountain Air is not responsible for nicks, scratches, missing straps, zipper damage, scuff marks, wheel damage, soiling, manufacturing defects, or damage from over-packing/spillage.
