Air China Name Change Policy

Air China has specific guidelines regarding name changes and corrections on flight tickets:

Minor Corrections: Passengers can correct minor spelling errors, typically up to 4 letters in the first name and 2 letters in the last name. Such corrections should be made well in advance of the flight to avoid complications during check-in.

Legal Name Changes: If your name has legally changed due to marriage, divorce, or other legal processes, Air China may accommodate the update. Appropriate legal documentation, such as a marriage certificate or court order, will be required to process the change.

Timeframes: For international flights, name change requests should be submitted at least 72 hours before departure. Domestic flight timeframes may vary; it's advisable to contact Air China directly for specific details.

Fees: Air China charges a fee for name corrections, which varies based on factors such as destination, date, and fare type. For international flights, fees can range from $100 to $350, while domestic flight corrections may cost between $50 and $200.

Ticket Transfer: Completely changing the name to transfer a ticket to another individual is generally not permitted. In such cases, you may need to cancel the existing ticket and book a new one.
